haiku for the day: winter’s here

Winter can be such a depressing place. But the sun promises to rise when it descends over the horizon in the evening, leaving behind a bit of its splendid coat.

Soon the grays will disappear and all the colors of the world shall return. The nights will be brighter and the days splashed with color all over the canvas that is the world.

For now, everything is black and white with gray shadows, ghosts haunting the world they have tried to forget. For now, there is this.

sky gray, trees barren
stripped of all their color
winter chill is on
