Does the World Need Another Blog?

In this day and age, we can use some stories and a little mirth. The world seems to have fallen off its rocker lately. So from time to time, I plan to give you a few jokes, a pun or two, a humorous tale, and who knows, there may just be a good belly laugh popping out from under your covers. Sometimes I will take a lop-sided look at life from my corner of the galaxy and try to put one and one together and make it add up to three, maybe four. And don’t tell me it can’t be done. Anything is possible with higher math and a little imagination.
At other times, you will find stories posted here simply to give the reader some enjoyment. Some will be sad and some mysterious and some explore the things that go bump in the night. Occasionally I may throw in a poem as an extra-special treat. And maybe there will be a little enlightenment along the way.
The one thing I do promise. The posts here won’t appear because I have some steam to blow off. They will be for the reader’s entertainment and delight. If I miss that mark, it won’t be because I didn’t try. After all, we bards love to dance with words and what better way to dance than to tell a tale and hope it waltzes its way into the heart.
The dharma of the jester
I live by the dharma of laughter
on the road of the cosmic joke
the Bodhisattva Comedians walk
compassionately with their audience
in stitches, awakened on the way of the gag
and the pun I follow, an old April fool
who’s not heard a yuk he didn’t take to
‘less it’s a pratfall hurts somebody.
There’s no fun in that!
One final thing, thank you for joining me on this ride. Enjoy. And ever walk toward your best self.
If all blogs had such a mission in mind, the world would be a happier place. I’m not interested in people mouthing off their rants, the news alone gives us all enough bad news, I want uplifting diversions like this! My humble intention too, in a different way.
And you do that too. I always find your posts insightful and uplifting. Thank you.
Alrighty then! ‘Suppose I’ll join in the readers group.
Thank you for finding and subscribing to my blog – which led me here.
This will for sure be a different kind of ride! 🙂
Yeppers.
‘Glad to meet you Sir Jester. Found you in a comment thread on another blog and couldn’t resist following you home 😉 I look forward to reading more!
Then you’re in for an adventure. 🙂
Well, I think I’ve found a kindred soul! Came across one of your comments on someone else’s blog. My cat curiosity got the better of me so I had to come and have a peek. Glad I did. WIll be back for more ……
Your opening sentences are so on the mark and here I thought I was the only one that understood that. LOL I am so happy to have found your blog! Who doesn’t need a little humor and enjoyment in their life? No, really, I am asking is there such a person? Thanks for having me along for the ride – shall we split the gas price or are we walking toward our best selves (which is free)? 🙂
Hmmm….I think I left my best self behind. He wanted a free ride and I told him there are no freebies in my universe. As far as gas is concerned, that’s better not spoken about…:)
Tisk, tisk…you should never leave your best self behind….from back there he is in the perfect position to kick you in the butt. LOL I hear you about the gas. 😉 I will be digging into your posts and reading a few very shortly.
🙂
The dharma of the jester = brilliant!
That’s my job. 🙂
